On March 13th, a group of 20 Canadian volunteers, including three École Forest Trail teachers, are departing for a 1 week March Break mission trip to the impoverished village of Triunfo, Guatemala. Mme Pizzi, Mlle Bourgouin and Mlle Ferguson are donating their time and expertise to this worthwhile mission. One of the main tasks on this trip is to work in the village grade school teaching children from junior kindergarten to grade 6. Volunteers are planning to do daily art, English, science, phys-ed and health lessons with the school children, as well as preparing a professional development day program for 27 area teachers. Some supplies have already been donated from other schools, churches and community groups. In the spirit of global citizenship, we are asking École Forest Trail families to support this mission with the donation of the following items: - Permanent and non-permanent markers
- Youth size baseball gloves (new or used)
Please consider supporting this wonderful mission by sending donations of markers and baseball gloves to École Forest Trail by Thursday, March 11th. Thank you! École Forest Trail School Council |
